Kids & Youth

Kids & Youth are the church of today!

Canton First Methodist believes wholeheartedly that our children and youth are not only the church of tomorrow: they are the church today! This belief compels us to partner with families to develop the same traits in our young people that we desire for every member of our church family.

Our desire for every person is that they would:
  • SEEK God with all their heart (Jeremiah 29:13)
  • SERVE unselfishly (Galatians 5:13)
  • SHARE Christ with others (1 Peter 3:15)
  • Be SHEPHERDED and SHEPHERD others in the faith (Hebrews 10:24-25)

"Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

Nursery - Preschool

Nursery care is available for children ages 6 weeks to 2 years while parents attend worship services, Sunday school, Spiritual Growth Groups, Life Groups and special events. The purpose is to provide a safe, loving, fun, and comfortable environment for children.

Preschool children ages 3 to 5 years meet on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings in a safe environment where they can creatively explore the Bible and discover Jesus through activities designed to bring scripture to life. Click here to learn more about our Wednesday evening class offering for all ages.

Kids & Youth with Disabilities

At Canton First Methodist, we are committed to creating opportunities for everyone to experience hope-filled life in Jesus Christ. As part of this mission, we intentionally partner with individuals with disabilities and their families to support meaningful, inclusive participation.

We have a team of trained volunteers who are passionate, equipped, and gifted to serve the unique needs of children and youth with disabilities. Our goal is to connect these dedicated volunteers with kids and students who need additional support, ensuring they can fully engage in and enjoy our ministry programs.

If you have a child or student who may benefit from special assistance during Sunday mornings or other church activities, we would love to support your family. Please reach out to our Children’s Pastor, Elaine Daniel, or our Discipleship & Family Ministry Pastor, Matt Abel. They would be happy to learn more about your family’s specific needs and discuss how we can best provide care and support.
